My Bio

Guillermo “Memo” Deniz brings a wealth of high-level playing experience and a deep understanding of Central Valley soccer to FC Fresno Academy’s coaching staff. A Visalia native, Guillermo developed his game competing with top travel clubs in Visalia and as a guest player in Clovis, building a strong competitive foundation from an early age.

A decorated athlete, Guillermo earned First-Team All-Area honors and was named League Offensive Player of the Year. He captained Mt. Whitney High School to a historic CIF Central Section Title—the first Valley Championship in the program’s history—demonstrating both leadership and high-performance excellence. He continued his playing career at the collegiate level as a squad member of the championship-winning Fresno Pacific University Men’s Soccer team.

Guillermo transitioned into coaching in 2016, developing a versatile foundation as a club assistant coach and middle school head coach. Since joining FC Fresno Academy in early 2023, he has taken on Head Coaching roles across multiple age groups, leading teams in both the 7v7 and 9v9 developmental formats.

His coaching philosophy centers on transforming young players into disciplined, confident athletes by instilling a mindset of constant progression, accountability, and healthy competition. Guillermo is committed to helping players maximize their potential while fostering a culture that reflects the academy’s standards of excellence both on and off the field.
