Born and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Edwin González developed his passion for soccer at just six years old in one of the world’s most iconic fútbol cities. He trained within the Chivas youth environment at Verde Valle, where he built a strong technical foundation and embraced the discipline and competitive mentality that now define his coaching philosophy.

After moving to the United States, Edwin continued competing at multiple levels, playing in San Jose and throughout the Central Valley, including Buchanan High School and Prospect High School in Saratoga, CA. His club career included respected programs such as Santa Clara Sporting, Club Marítimo, West Valley Soccer, and competitive clubs in the Clovis area, giving him broad exposure to different playing styles and developmental systems.

With more than 18 years of coaching experience, Coach Edwin has led and supported competitive programs including Cruz Azul Fresno, Argentina FC Fresno, Clovis Crossfire, CJSL outreach programs, Buchanan High School (JV), and Hoover High School. He has also attended professional coaching education courses in Europe, the United States, and Mexico to stay aligned with modern training methodologies. His approach centers on technical excellence, tactical intelligence, discipline, and character development — building complete athletes who compete with confidence and pride.
